Directions Turquoise Semi Permanent Hair Dye Review

11952051_10153691869574073_1401143679347096270_n DSC02193

With my pink dip dyed hair mostly washed out, I thought it was about time I gave my image another revamp.

I had bought the Directions hair dye in ‘Turquoise’ a while ago but I had never got round to using it – that is until now, at least.

I love Directions semi-permanent hair dye as it is a lovely thick conditioning hair dye that is easy to apply and a little really does go a long way. I found that I was able to use one pot to dip dye my hair on two separate occasions, so when the colour started to fade, I could easily top it up without having to rush out and buy another pot. I also find the colours available are all very vibrant and the colours take well on my hair. Directions hair dye is great if you want a quick vibrant look but you don’t want it to be permanent as the dyes last up to 3 – 4 weeks.

I absolutely adore this turquoise colour, it is a lovely blue colour with green undertones which manage to make an impact without being too bright. I was happy at how well the colour took, even over my faded pink hair.

What do you all think of my new look? Have you ever used Directions hair dye before? What are you thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!

OOTD: Black Tile Print Tunic Dress from New Look

DSC02094 (2) DSC02093 (2)

So I should probably tidy my room and put my hairdryer away before I take full body shots for my blog but… OH WELL!

As you guys know, I can’t walk in to New Look without buying something and this time was no different as this cute little tunic dress caught my eye. I really loved the pattern of it and I liked how it is a loose fitting dress that can be worn for both day and night. The dress came with a D-Ring belt but I preferred it with my thin black belt instead (as seen in the pictures). The D-Ring belt however made it look a lot more loose fitted, although I found the belt I used is better for drawing attention to the waist and making it appear slimmer than it is.

I love the style of the dress and how it’s dressy without being too over the top. I also like how it has short sleeves and comes just above the knee on me, although I am tiny so it will more than likely fall a lot shorter on taller girls). I wore this with small block heels for an evening look. It also looks great worn with a leather-look biker jacket to add some grunge to the look. I wore this dress barelegged but black or fishnet tights are are great alternative.

As it is a very simplistic dress, it’s great to accessorize with especially if you plan on wearing this for an evening look.

This is a casual fit dress made from 100% polyester.

Sale Sale Sale

Every girl loves a good sale and I am no exception to the rule. I managed to pick up some gorgeous accessories in the sale a few weeks ago – check them out below.

Dream Catcher Earrings from New Look

DSC01997

I have a bit of an obsession with dream catchers and so when I saw these dream catcher earrings from New Look, I just had to have them. And for just £1, I simply could not resist. Lately I feel like I need to experiment with my look a bit more and I feel like jewellery can really jazz up an outfit, however me being me, I often lose things and so I don’t trust myself with expensive jewellery. These cheap earrings were perfect for me however and I love the feather detail on them. They have a long hook that just slip in to your ear but I’m always scared they will fall out so I usually get an earring back from other earrings and put them on these to prevent that. These earrings are really cute and they are quite small and subtle too.

Hippy Daisy Flower Band from New Look

DSC01998

1438332239589

I have had my eye on these flower bands for a while now but I could never really justify spending the £3.99 or however much there were on them but when I saw them reduced to just £2, I saw my chance. There was a lot to choose from but I went for this daisy band as I thought it was subtle but girly. I think it is great for festivals and I will most likely be wearing this for Manchester Pride on the August Bank Holiday weekend.

And that’s my two little buys from the sale. It’s just a short post today but I hope you liked it. Let me know in the comments below.

Poundland’s Make Up Gallery ‘All About The Pout’ Lipstick in Pink Berry Review

11698834_10153584281729073_246709076886748076_n DSC01355 (2)

Pink lipstick is fast becoming my favourite lip colour to wear and I absolutely love this Pink Berry colour in the Poundland’s Make Up Gallery range. It’s bold, bright, and is great for a party-ready look.

I love lipstick and I think a perfect lip colour can completely transform an outfit and this lipstick is no different. I love how it’s a very deep, almost red colour and it matches my hair perfectly too – you know because that’s always our first need when it comes to choosing a lip colour. I find the deep pink shade is also great for a girly rock chick look too and you can really play around with this shade to create different, unique looks to match your own personal style.

I think my own style is quite girly and so I love using this lip colour as it adds a subtle girly twist to my outfits. I also like using colours that most people don’t use to create my own individual look and I find most people go for red or purple lip shades instead.

This is a gloss type lipstick that adds a lovely shine to your lips. I also love that even though it only cost £1, it stays on for a long time and when I go out, it still seems to stay on without having to reapply it a lot like you can find yourself doing with even the more expensive lipsticks.

Personally, I love the Make Up Gallery lipsticks (as you can tell my looking through my blog) and I absolutely adore this Pink Berry shade. It’s a bold, cute and girly lipstick all rolled in to one.

L’Oréal Paris Feria Dip Dye Excess Semi-Permanent Hair Dye in Pink Pop Review

For those readers who have been following my blog for a while now, you will know that I have been trying (and drastically failing) to dye my hair the perfect pink colour. Just check out my hair dye reviews on Crazy Color Candy Floss Pink, Directions Pastel Pink, Schwazkopf LIVE Color XXL in Shocking Pink, and my then desperate attempt to wash the “too pink and patchy” hair dye out my hair.

My hair has gone on its very own journey to achieve the perfect pink. Who would have thought pink was such a hard colour to achieve? And the irony of it all is that I found this gorgeous L’Oréal Paris Feria Dip Dye Excess Semi-Permanent Hair Dye in a beautiful Pink Pop colour for just £1 in Poundworld. And it actually worked!

And I actually fell in love with the colour and my hair!

Firstly, we’ll discuss the product and what the box includes…

Inside the L’Oréal Feria Dip Dye Excess box we have the instructions, a pair of professional black gloves, 50ml dip dye excess toning conditioner in Pink Pop, and an expert easy application brush. Although the dye is advertised for dip dying, it can also be used for dying the full head, as explained in the instructions leaflet, although 2 bottles is probably best for long hair.

I really liked the texture of this hair dye; it is a creamy conditioner type hair dye that is easy to apply to the hair and rubs in well. I also liked how the hair dye comes with an application brush as all I had to do was apply some dye to the brush and then brush in to my hair. It made it really easy to glide in to my hair and ensuring I had covered every little strand of hair that I may have missed otherwise. The smell of this hair dye is amazing too! It smells exactly like conditioner and shampoo products and unlike some hair dyes, this is bound to make your hair smell and feel gorgeous afterwards.

When applying the dye, it looks red but don’t worry as one it washes out you will get more of a deep pink colour.

For this hair dye to take to your hair you will need blonde hair to begin with so if you don’t already have this, you will have to bleach your hair first. I found the best way to dip dye my hair was to part my hair and then tie my hair in to pigtails, making sure they are both level. I tied the bobbles to my pigtails to the length of where I wanted the dip dye to end. I then brushed on the dye using the application brush, and rubbing in the dye in to my hair to ensure I had not left any blonde patches. I then left the dye on for 30 minutes and washed out afterwards.

And the results…I am absolutely in love with this colour! It’s a much darker pink than I anticipated but I love it all the same. I think it adds a bit of edge to my hair and I am completely happy with this look, And I can’t believe it only cost me £1 to achieve!

This semi permanent hair dye lasts up to 10 washes.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Shopping Haul

Admit it, we all love a good shopping haul every once in a while, especially when we can pick up some cheap bargains. Carry on reading to see what I bought in my latest shopping trip.

Mint Green Ribbed Crop Top from New Look

I have a massive obsession with crop tops! They’re just so cute and I was missing this gorgeous mint greet colour from my collection so I just had to get it. I think crop tops are so easy to dress up or down, depending on the occasion. At the moment I usually wear them when I go out to town around the clubs so I usually wear it with a nice skirt or some dressy shorts, my leather jacket, and a pair of heels.

I bought this when it was reduced to £5 but it is now has further reductions and is just £3.

Pink Tropical Print Runner Shorts from New Look

Okay, so I don’t know why New Look have described these shorts as pink because unless I’m colour blind, these shorts are most definitely red but I’m just going to go along with what the store called them…

Anyway, I really love loose fitted shorts and these are super cute and above all else, comfy. Like the crop tops, these shorts can be dressed up or down. I usually wear these with a coloured crop top (usually yellow) or cami top with a pair of heels and a nice jacket.

I really love the pattern of these shorts and the colours, and they are now definitely one of my favourite shorts to wear.

These are currently £7.00 in the sale.

Orange Flip Lock Backpack from New Look

I’ve had my eye on this beautiful bag for so long now but I could never really justify spending £24.99 on a bag that I didn’t exactly need. But with New Look having a massive sale on at the moment, this bag has been reduced to £12.00 and I finally got to buy it.

I love backpacks and this bag is big enough to fit in all your essentials without getting too full. I also adore the colour, I really love orange and I think this is a great accessory to liven up my style.

Velvet Stone Drop Choker from Claire’s Accessories

I have never worn a choker before but I absolutely love this particular choker from Claire’s Accessories. It’s quite gothic and unique but the purple drop adds a bit of girly touch to it. Price: £5.00

Choker from Topshop

Topshop have a massive sale on at the moment and I managed to grab this gorgeous choker for just £4. I really love the tribal look this choker has and I think it’s great for dressing up an outfit. I think chokers may become my new favourite fashion accessory.

Pack of 6 rings from Primark

I lack a lot of accessories and at the time of my shopping trip, I was on the hunt to find some cute but cheap jewellery to liven up my outfits. I only wanted cheap as then I don’t need to worry about losing them on a night out and I thought Primark would be my best shot. They had some really good rings but I was particularly drawn to these gorgeous tribal type rings. I really love the big one with the red stone in the middle but all are equally as unique and as pretty as the last. I got the medium sized pack (there was no large left) and found all the rings come in different sizes and there are 3 small ones for the pinkie finger. I’m really happy with my find and this pack of 6 rings cost just £3.

Straw Hat from a Market Stall

I adore straw hats and they’re kind of a necessity to me in the summer months due to my hair skin and hair – having a red sun burnt scalp is soooo not a good look. I think this straw hat is really cute, yet simplistic. And at just £5 at my local market, I couldn’t resist.

So, that’s all my shopping buys this week! I hope you liked them. Let me know what you think in the comments below.

Directions Pastel Pink Semi Permanent Hair Dye Review

If any of you saw my Crazy Color Candy Floss Pink Hair Dye Review, you will have realised that I am in a desperate attempt to get light pink hair right now. I don’t know why but I have become obsessed with light pink hair. I think it looks so cute and girly, and it would be a brilliant hair colour for summer.

However, despite me having quite blonde hair, it seems it is not blonde enough because after my failed Crazy Color hair dye attempt, I decided to buy the Directions hair dye instead in the colour ‘Pastel Pink’.

Now, I have used Directions before but I have always gone for the brighter colours; rose red, lavender, plum, lagoon blue etc and they have worked no problem so I know given the right colour, Directions hair dye works and it usually works well.

However this light pastel pink colour barely took to my hair at all; in the pot it looks quite pink and noticeable but once I put it to my hair, it barely took at all. If you look closely, you will be able to see a very light pink tinge to my hair but it definitely did not go the way it was suppose to.

I applied the hair dye evenly and even got my mum to help. I left in the dye for an hour (the pot only says to leave it on for 15 – 30 minutes) and it still didn’t take to my hair so I can only assume I need bleached white hair for this pastel pink hair dye to take effect which sucks because I don’t ever plan on bleaching my hair. I only want a semi-permanent pink hair colour and I don’t want to ruin my hair with bleach.

I’m kind of annoyed because I bought 2 pots of this and even mixed it with the Lavender Directions hair dye when it became obvious that the Pastel Pink hair dye wasn’t taking to my hair but I still had no luck.

The actual texture of the hair dye is really good; it’s a thick conditioning hair colour that is easy to apply and goes on much better than the Crazy Color hair dye. In my previous post, I commented on Crazy Color hair dye being too runny and watery, and so I found the Directions one much better in terms of texture and formula. The only problem I had was the actual colour of the hair dye and it being non-effective on my hair.

Has anyone else achieved a pastel pink hair colour or has anyone else struggled with achieving the perfect hair colour like me? Let me know in the comments below.

I’m going to be investing in the Live hair dye in Shocking Pink next time so watch this space and hopefully I’ll be rocking pink hair soon.

Clothes Haul (mostly from New Look ofc)

I’ve gone a bit crazy this week and bought loads of clothes for summer mostly (and occasionally dressing the items up for weekend antics). By now, you all know New Look is my all time favourite shop and I pretty much cannot enter the store without coming out with a bag full of clothes. And with New Look constantly teasing me with emails about what’s new, it wasn’t long before I was marching to town to buy as much as I possibly could.

And it doesn’t help that summer is fast approaching too! It is my favourite season and I always find loads of pretty clothes around the summer months. I wish I could say the same about winter but my summer clothes definitely out-way my winter collection.

Carry on reading to see this week’s buys:

Bright Orange Ribbed Crop Top from New Look

I have a bit of an obsession with ribbed crop tops. I’m not even one for exposing my belly that much but for some reason, I do love these crop tops (and the ribbed detail makes it a very trendy, elegant look). Although they are crop tops, I find them quite long and they usually come up to just above my belly button and when I pair it with a skirt, there is next to no skin on show. And even with shorts, only a small strip of skin in visible so I don’t feel anxious about walking around with my (untoned) belly hanging out (I am a short girl though so it will probably be shorter on taller girls).

I love bright clothing and with summer approaching, there’s no better excuse to wear bold colours. This top is a lovely bright orange which I find the image from the official New Look page doesn’t do justice as I find the top is a lot brighter in real life.

I would pair this top with a lovely white summery, floral skirt and sandals for a girly summer look, or a black leather-look skirt and heels for an evening look.

This top is £6.99 or 2 for £12 on selected Jersey Tops.

Yellow Ribbed Crop Top from New Look

This yellow ribbed crop top is a gorgeous lemon colour that is perfect for summer.  Like I mentioned above, this crop top comes to just above the belly button and so only a strip of skin will be on show, if any. I find crop tops great as you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion.

I bought this ribbed crop top as part as the 2 for £12 deal, but it costs £6.99 if you decide to buy it on its own.

Black Tile Print Playsuit from New Look

This might possible be one of the most talked about playsuits ever! I have seen lots of tweets and received many emails about this playsuit which makes it hard not to fall in love with it. Repetitiveness is key and New Look have definitely worked their magic on me because the more I saw this playsuit online, the more I began to fall in love with it. And do you want to know why it’s being talked about so much? Well, because it costs just a measly £10.

I’m all about aztec/tribal/tile print and the design on this playsuit really stands out for me. It’s really girly and casual, and is the perfect holiday clothing. I’m really excited to wear this as I think it’s absolutely gorgeous. I am shocked that it is only £10 as this is possibly one of the nicest playsuits New Look have to offer for a much cheaper price.

I love the high neck detail, and it has a easy tie detail at the back. This playsuit is perfect for dressing up or down this summer.

Red Fold Paisley Print High Neck Playsuit from New Look

Another gorgeous playsuit from New Look. I love the detail of this playsuit as I think it really stands out and adds some character to my style. I am also a big fan of the high neck design as I find it adds some elegance to my look.

This has a zip at the back and a cinched waist, which is great for an added slimming style.

I love playsuits as they are great for a summer day look but can also be dressed up for an evening look with block heels and accessories. Price: £17.99

Parisian Black Daisy Print Belted Playsuit from New Look

This is probably my favourite playsuite out of the 3 I bought as I find it really girly, summery, and probably the easiest to dress up for the evening. I am a bit disappointed as online it states it comes with a white belt but in the shop the belt was not there and there was only the one playsuit in the store so I didn’t realise the playsuit even came with a belt. I can’t even swap it as they only have sizes 8 – 10 online. That aside though, and it is a gorgeous, fun playsuit and I love the flower detail.

This has a zip detail at the back to get in and out off. Price: £24.99

Black PU Biker Jacket from Wallis

For some reason the black biker jacket from Wallis can’t be found anywhere on the internet but the jacket is still available in store (as far as I’m aware). All I can guess is that leather-look/biker jackets are going out of fashion because summer is approaching so if you’re still looking for a biker jacket, it’s best to get one quickly.

I’ve been looking for a biker jacket for ages but I find all the ones available in the young fashion high street stores are quite fitted, whereas I personally wanted one a bit oversized and to look like, well… a biker jacket.

I love this jacket and I think it will look great to wear with my evening clothes, or to even wear as an alternative to a coat on cool summer evenings.

Black Mini Cross Body Bag from BHS

I love cross body bags as I hate having to hold on to anything (and I usually put down and lose my bag if I have to carry it around). Cross body bags are easy as you can put it around you and don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the night. I also like how it has zips on as I usually end up dropping my bag and losing half my stuff that way too (I shouldn’t be allowed to be an adult). This has a large main pocket and a small zip pocket (as you can see in the picture above). There’s also a tiny pocket inside the main pocket that is ideal for keys and lipstick etc.

I have a bag similar to this but it was starting to rip and it is quite a bit smaller than this one. This bag can happily fit in my purse and phone comfortably with extra room for other small bits and pieces. This bag is ideal for carrying small items around and because it is black, will pretty much go with everything. Price: £10

New Look 60% Sale Wishlist

Have you seen New Look’s 60% sale yet? There’s so many gorgeous outfits available for a much cheaper price. I have created a wishlist and put some items together to create some truly beautiful outfits for an incredibly low price.

What do you think of my outfit choices? Let me know in the comments below!

The Everyday Look

I am a comfort over fashion kind of girl; don’t get me wrong I ADORE fashion but I like to feel comfortable in what I’m wearing too.  The items I have picked out for an everyday look are something I would wear on a day-to-day basis when I’m nipping to the shops or lounging around the house. The sweater looks super comfy and I always find jeggings to be a lot comfier than jeans are. I’ve added a bit of colour with the blue plimsolls and bag to match.

Black New York Brooklyn Sweater £8.00
Blue Acid Wash Jeggings£14.00
Wide Fit Blue Lace Up Plimsolls £4.00
Blue Leather Snakeskin Textured Panel Satchel £25.00

Total Price: £51.00

The ‘Time to Party’ Look

I have gone for a bit of a girly/grunge look here with the leather-look jacket and choker. I love the colour of the dress and the bag I have picked out is a similar colour to the dress which I think matches well. And I have grown a massive obsession with block heels at the moment and love the shoes I have picked out, the ankle strap makes sure the shoes are secure and they are not too high either so hopefully your feet won’t be killing by the end of the night. I think this is a really pretty evening look with a bit of an added grunge twist.

Rust Lattice Neck Skater Dress£8.00
Black Leather-Look Biker Jacket£25.00
Wide Fit Black Sateen Chunky Low Block Heels£10.00
Bright Pink Mini Satchel£8.00
Black Crochet Floral Choker£2.00

Total Price: £53.00

The Office Look

Finding something stylish and smart for work can be difficult but I think the items I have picked above works well for an office look. The monochrome shirt adds a bit of style to the office look, whilst still looking smart and professional. And the bag has monochrome stripes to match the shirt and is large enough to fit in all your important documents for work. The shoes are smart with a small heel.

White Vertical Strip Shirt£12.00
Black Polly Tailored Bootcut Trousers£9.00
Wide Fit Black Chunky Ankle Strap Block Heels£10.00
Black Stripe Side Print Shopper Bag – £9.00

Total Price: £40.00

The Girly Summer Look

I have had my eye on that skirt for ages; it’s so pretty! I love tribal prints and the skirt really stands out to me. Because the skirt is so colourful and vibrant, it is best to pair it with a plain block colour. I’ve paired the skirt with a nice summer crop top and black sandals to create a girly, summer look.

Black Ribbed High Neck Crop Top£6.00
White Abstract Print Skater Skirt – £8.00
Black Cleated Sole Caged Sandals – £8.00

Total Price: £22.00

What do you guys think of these 4 different styles? Have you seen anything you love in the New Look 60% sale? Let me know!
